What will be the rules of the mega auction?
The IPL rules of IPL 2022 may be similar to the rules of 2018. All eight franchises of the IPL are allowed to retain a maximum of three players in their team prior to the auction. Apart from this, the franchisees can retain five players of their previous team.
In this IPL auction 2022, franchisees can retain two players in their team using RTM. If a team does not retain any player, it can use a maximum of three RTM. According to the rule, the team can also get 5 players from their previous team before the team is allowed to use three ATM cards according to which only three capped Indian players had the limit.
As an example, let us take that if Royal Challengers Bangalore team player Virat Kohli returns AB de Villiers Glenn Maxwell, then he will have to release Yuzvendra Chahal Shahzad Ahmed Devdutt Padikkal. And even during the auction, the teams will not be able to use RTM for them.
